Pop singer/songwriter Jason Derulo is now onboard for Lady Gaga’s anticipated ‘Monster Ball‘ Tour.
Joining Kid Cudi for the seventeen date tour, which runs through Atlanta, New Orleans, Detroit and Miami, before wrapping up in New York on January 21, Derulo is also poised to enter 2010 with his Beluga Heights/Warner Bros. Records debut album.

Due after the successful release and chart climb of “Watcha Say,” currently at no.2 on the Billboard Hot 100, Derulo’s debut album will hit stores early 2010.
As previously reported, Derulo is the first artist signed to Warner Bros. Records’ new joint venture with multi-platinum songwriter and producer J.R. Rotem’s record label Beluga Heights. Derulo has written songs for Lil Wayne, Sean Kingston, Pitbull, Diddy and Danity Kane, and has shared stages with T-Pain, Akon, and Mims.
Derulo kicks off his portion of the ‘Monster Ball’ tour on December 29th in Atlanta and will continue until the final show at Radio City Music Hall on January 21st (dates below).
Derulo, who penned his first track when he was just eight years old, has said in interviews that his galvanizing moment as a songsmith was seeing Michael Jackson perform for the first time.
“I knew that’s what I wanted to do. From then on, my goal in life was to express myself through song and to showcase it to the world,” said he who has already written songs for the likes of Lil Wayne, Keyshia Cole, and Cassie.
Like Jackson, Derulo never planned to stay behind the scenes.
“I never wanted to be a songwriter — it just kind of fell on my lap. I love writing, but I always wanted to be the voice, not just the pen,” says Derulo. “I always yearned to sing my own song, and now, here I am doing just that.”
“Whatcha Say” boots last week’s top song “Fireflies” by techno pop act Owl City to number two.
Lets talk about it.
